Solution
A hexagon with no decoration should appear in the top left.
Starting from a blank triangle at the base, each branch and tip of the diagram represents an evolutionary step. We've added the intermediary shapes so you can see how this works and how the hexagon 'evolves'. This is an example of a cladogram, a tool used by biologists and palaeontologists to represent who closely related different organisms are.
