Pixelhexe – EnigMarch Puzzle 16, HEX

This puzzle was designed for EnigMarch 2022 – check out #EnigMarch on Twitter.

Once upon a time there was a very colourful witch. She was a stereotypical witch in that she lived alone in a #FFFFFF house with a #000000 cat in the middle of a forest called #DEB887. For breakfast she ate #FFEFD5 and when hard at work she liked to nibble on a #FFEBCD.

As she was a witch she decided today was a good day to cast a spell. So, she went to her cauldron and threw in a feather from her pet duck and a glass of her favourite liqueur along with whatever was left in there from yesterday, waved her wand (a #EEE8AA) and with a puff of #F5F5F5 she made a ???

Do you know what the witch made? Mix the same ingredients yourself in the caudron below to check...

The hex codes (e.g. #FFFFFF) represent named CSS colours, a set of colour names that you can use when coding websites. Replacing the codes in the puzzle makes it read as follows:

Once upon a time there was a very colourful witch. She was a stereotypical witch in that she lived alone in a WHITE house with a BLACK cat in the middle of a forest called BURLYWOOD. For breakfast she ate PAPAYAWHIP and when hard at work she liked to nibble on a BLANCHEDALMOND.

As she was a witch she decided today was a good day to cast a spell. So, she went to her cauldron and threw in a feather from her pet duck and a glass of her favourite liqueur along with whatever was left in there from yesterday, waved her wand (a PALEGOLDENROD) and with a puff of WHITESMOKE she made a HONEYDEW.

To solve the puzzle you needed to take the hex codes for TEAL (the pet duck, #008080) and CHARTREUSE (the favourite liqueur, #7FFF00) and put them into the colour-mixing cauldron. This creates the color #F0FFF0 which is HONEYDEW.
